The Professional Teaching Portfolio (PTP)

What is the PTP?

The Professional Teaching Portfolio is an application-focused, multi-faceted, contextualized, and authentic measure of a teacher candidate’s ability to plan, implement, and assess instruction; embedding research-based pedagogical practices that reflect the knowledge, skills, and critical dispositions of a professional educator. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure a candidate’s readiness to provide meaningful instruction for PreK-12 students with diverse learning needs.

Eastern Oregon University and Southern Oregon University have partnered together to deliver this assessment to preservice teachers in each of the educator preparation programs at their respective universities. This website offers support to preservice teachers and their mentors along their PTP journeys.
