Welcome Back to Term Two

Monday 15 April

Dear Parents,

We hope you have all had a restful break and are ready for a fabulous term of learning.  We have had a very productive Curriculum Design day today where the focus has been on Assessment and Reporting and fine tuning learning intentions to ensure the teaching and learning programs are explicit for our students. We are ready for Term Two and look forward to welcoming students back to school tomorrow. Below are some helpful reminders to get us organised and set up for success for a big term ahead. Please remember that school gates open at 8:35am and that children should not be dropped off at the school gate prior to this time.

ANZAC Day

To commemorate ANZAC Day our school captains will be selling a variety of ANZAC Day commemorative items at break times. Items range from $2 - $10. Children are welcome to bring some money to school and purchase items that they would like to wear in the lead up to ANZAC Day. Stock that we receive from the RSL is limited so we do ask families to limit items to 1 per child. As a school, we will commemorate ANZAC day at our assembly at the special time of Wednesday 24 April at 2:50pm- parents are welcome to attend. Week Two certificates will be distributed during this time.  In addition, we are also proud of our school captains who will be representing our school and attending the dawn service at Pascoe Vale RSL on Thursday 25 April.

Approachability of Staff and Emails

A gentle reminder that teachers are non contactable for face to face meetings during learning time. Please use email to contact your child's teacher to organise a mutually convenient time to catch up. The purpose of email is to communicate a quick query or seek clarification. Teachers will do their best to respond to your questions during the day but between face to face teaching, yard duty and extra curricular activities and meetings it does not leave much time. For any urgent requests, please contact the school office. As per the parent information booklet, email is NOT to be used to express grievances rather we ask parents use email to set up a meeting for this process.

Communication

Please ensure your compass notifications are switched on so you can stay in the loop with last minute reminders or changes that occur at school from time to time.

Extended Leave of Absence Form

If you are planning an extended leave from school for your child that exceeds three learning days, please complete the Extended Leave of Absence form and submit it to the school office.

Please save the date for one of the following activities to celebrate our Mum or Special Person.

Mother's Day Stall - Wednesday 8 May (Don't forget to bring money to school on this day to purchase a special gift. Students will be timetabled during learning time to attend the stall.
