I'm still updating this course based on the course from two years ago. It has been a very, very busy couple of years for educational technology & CALL!
For most (all?) of February, a lot of the information on this website will be incorrect because most of the information is from another course (for now) - I copied my previous website content because I liked the overall structure of the site. I'll be replacing the text and links bit by bit over the next month or two. The website will be (mostly) completed by our first week of class. Until then: broken / missing links & incorrect information.
Syllabus: This is our current syllabus, which was revised after our first week discussions and surveys.
Reading packet: Our main readings can be found here. This may be updated during the course. If so, I'll let you know ahead of time.
Basic Info survey: please try to take this survey before the first night of class, if you are planning on enrolling in this class.
Needs Analysis: Do not take this survey yet. We are going to discuss it in class: TFoC Needs Analysis Survey.
Slides for 02/04 CALL 01 "Welcome to Theoretical Foundations of CALL" (TFoC)
For next week, read (TBD)
Also, check this website for updates after we discuss the direction of the course in our first class.
Slow progress is still progress! ^^ Besides my normal workload, I'm having to do a ton of what I can 'detail work' to re-arrange and rename all of the readings and materials, so no real website updates yet. Eventually, I'll be moving this material completely of the front page.

Here are some useful resources for our course.
Policies: Class policies for attendance, plagiarism, using AI, participation and other essential course information. This is required reading.
Citations: APA citation and reference models. The link to the left is one guide. You can search for others. Here is an APA guide from Purdue that I used frequently as a student.
The formatting differences indicate the type of source it comes from - become familiar with the different types of sources!
In our course, for example, you will frequently reference "chapters in and edited book/ebook" (our main textbook) and "journal articles"
If you don't already have one, get acquainted with a citation manager as soon as possible. I use Zotero personally, but there are several options with different features.
Sources: Sookmyung Library for finding published journal articles. Learn it, love it, visit often. Also, here is a very brief list of some journals/sources reference in this course.
