Dr. Hyojin Kim joined the Department of Chemistry at Sookmyung Women’s University as an Assistant Professor in September 2025. She received her B.S. degree from Sookmyung Women’s University in 2018 and earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Korea University in 2024 under the supervision of Professor Chang-Seop Hong. Prior to starting her independent career at Sookmyung Women’s University, Dr. Kim completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Washington, where she worked in the Douglas A. Reed research group. Her research focuses on inorganic and hybrid functional materials, with particular emphasis on stimuli-responsive porous materials for environmental and energy applications. By integrating inorganic chemistry with dynamic structure control, her group aims to develop next-generation materials that exhibit switchable functionality under external stimuli.
