Mission STATEMENT
The mission of our Sonora High Boys’ Basketball Program is to field teams that excel on the court as well as in the classroom and positively impact our school and community. Student athletes in our program will be treated with respect as we strive to reach our potential as a team and as individuals. We will respect the great game of basketball by playing as hard as we physically can.

The educational side of athletics is to help our students benefit from the life lessons learned through athletic participation. If our athletes, coaches, and staff give their all in preparation as well as competition, the final score will not minimize the effort achieved during competition.

Our mission defines expectations both on the field and off. Our mission includes that our athletes be students first, and that they prioritize their academic record. We strive to motivate our players to look to the future with their academic and career goals. We expect our players make good progress toward their diploma of high school graduation as well as developing a plan to further their education for a career after high school.

We recognize that great demands are placed on students who participate in athletics, and we are committed to providing support to help them manage these demands and get the most out of their high school experience. Athletes are also expected to adhere to a level of conduct that brings credit to themselves and the Wildcat Boys Basketball program to uphold the values of citizenship and service.
