About the Teacher

Craig Tierney

Originally from beautiful Mariposa California, I moved to Sonoma County in 2003 to attend Sonoma State University. I graduated from SSU in 2007 after having spent a year studying in Bristol, England where I met my future wife and further developed a deep love of history. Many years, a history master's degree, a credential, and two kids later I have found myself teaching here at Sonoma Valley High School.

Outside of school I enjoy consuming good food, hugging babies, popular culture and attempting to fix my old junky house. Personal relationships have always been what I hold most precious and look forward to getting to know each of my students as individuals as well as lifelong learners.

​Teaching social studies has always been a dream for me and I consider my profession a privilege. I welcome correspondence and hope to hear from both my students and their parents throughout the school year.
