GOLF
Thank you for joining us for Winter Fitness Season!
Putter (Broom or mop stick)
Golf Ball (Ping pong ball or any other small ball, as close to the size of a golf ball as possible)
Markers (Cones, plastic cups, rolled up socks, or other marker)
Create a 2 foot by 2 foot target zone using 4 place markers (you can use 4 plastic cups, 4 rolled up socks, etc.)
Have 3 golf balls or substitutes ready to use and a putter
Measure and mark 5ft from target zone
Each ball that lands within the target zone is worth 1 point
Golf club to chip with (a pitching wedge, sand wedge, 9 iron, etc.)
Golf balls or alternative ball in similar size (whiffle balls, ping pong balls, etc.)
Measuring tape or other measuring device (if unavailable you can use steps)
Find an open space outdoors with lots of extra room
Find a smooth patch of grass you can chip from and place your balls down there, this will be your hitting area
Now measure out 40 feet or approximately 15 steps/ paces and place down a target (can be a cone, rag, or other object that won’t break)
Now walk back to your hitting area
You have 5 attempts to swing and get the ball to stop rolling as close to the target as possible
When finished, measure how far away each ball is from the target
Then use the below to determine your score based on your measurement and add up the points for all 5 balls
SCORING SYSTEM
Swing & Miss the Ball - 0 points
Contact with the Ball - 1 point
Ball lands within 3 meters (9 ft 10 in) - 2 points
Ball lands within 2 meters (6 ft 7 in) - 3 points
Ball lands within 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) - 4 points
At least 12ft of open space (grass, a hallway, or driveway)
Putter (stick or broom)
5 Golf balls OR use 1 ball and reuse it for each attempt
Something to mark your target and scoring circles (cones, chalk or string)
Measuring tape or ruler
Set up your target hole and create two circles around the hole or target
The first circle should have a radius of 0.5 meters
The second should have a radius of 1.5 meters from the hole
Set up your start line 4 meters (about 12 ft) from the hole or marked target
The long putt should be set up on a green with as flat a surface as possible (If the surface is not flat, putting uphill is recommended)
The athlete will have five attempts from a clearly marked line, 4 meters from the hole, for a maximum possible score of 20 pts.
SCORING SYSTEM
Swing & Miss the Ball - 0 points
Contact with the Ball - 1 point
Between the start line and outer circle - 2pts
Between the outer and inner circles - 3pts
Within the inner circle or in the hole - 4pts
The Unified event is the combined score between the Athlete and the Unified Partner
(i.e If the athlete's score is 17 and the Unified Partner's score is 13 then the combined time for the team would be 30)
