During Digital Literacy Week (October 16-20), students discussed various ways to be a digital citizen and 3rd graders reviewed ways to question and explore news. Here are some tips to follow.
The National Park Service released a pretty cool tour of the Statue of Liberty. Even if you have been to see her, I recommend taking a moment and checking out what she looks like on the inside.
When in doubt... schedule time to check in on the live cams at the San Diego Zoo. Journal about what you observe the animals doing during the day. Remember that there is a time delay and that the polar bears are best seen in the afternoon.
California field trip! The Monterey Aquarium has 10 live cams to choose from, but they don't go live until they open at 1PM EST. From their website... "Be delighted by the antics of our sea otters or mellow out to the hypnotic drifting of our jellies. With ten live cams to choose from, you can experience the wonder of the ocean no matter where you are."
The Smithsonian is offering us the chance to virtually tour the National Museum of Natural History. I took an early morning trip to see dinosaur bones and the display on gems and minerals. I will be curious to hear what you like.
