Learning Languages

Learning Languages is woven through the curriculum to support and strengthen learners' verbal and non-verbal communication. 

We encourage our learners to explore and use the official languages of New Zealand (Te reo Māori and Sign Language) at a level that is appropriate for them. Embedding Te Reo Māori and New Zealand Sign Language into learning allows all our learners to have a voice and the ability to communicate their needs and wants in everyday learning. 

In addition, our diverse languages and cultures are also celebrated and encouraged throughout the school.
