What am I supposed to do for Summer Reading?

SHS Summer Reading Assignment

CHOICE A:  READ 2 OR MORE BOOKS

1. Choose your texts.  If you need ideas, check out this list of recommendations from our librarian, 

Mrs. Caporale.  (Please note, this list is not required reading, but we feel it encompasses a diverse and engaging selection of texts.)

2. For each book, complete this google form which asks you to review and recommend the book.

3. Be ready to share your summer reading choices with your classmates when you return to school!

CHOICE B:  NY Times Summer Reading Contest

1. Choose an article from the NY Times Learning Network to read and respond to.

2. Submit your response to the NY Times and also on this google form. (Cut and paste is fine).

3. Complete a total of 5 responses over the course of the summer.

4. Be ready to discuss your reading and thinking with your classmates when you return!

*Note that Honors and AP courses will have additional assignments.
