We’re thrilled to announce that thanks to a generous grant from BEF & SEF, author and reading advocate John Schu will be presenting to our 9th graders on Thursday, February 13th. Known for his motivational and engaging speaking style, John inspires readers of all ages by sharing his love for books, stories, and the connections they create.
John Schu has dedicated his career to championing kids, books, and the educators who bring them together. A Library Journal Mover and Shaker, he’s renowned for his dynamic presentations and innovative approaches to connecting authors, illustrators, and readers. Currently, he serves as the children’s librarian for Bookelicious, a part-time lecturer at Rutgers University, and travels the world sharing his passion for reading.
As the New York Times best-selling author of Louder Than Hunger and The Gift of Story: Exploring the Affective Side of the Reading Life, John will captivate students and staff with his insights and energy, leaving them inspired to embrace the power of storytelling.
This is a unique opportunity for students to engage with a speaker who truly understands the magic of story.
