Kelly Kyllo
Hello, my name is Kelly Kyllo, and I am one of the school counselors at Somerset Middle School. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota–Duluth and my Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Superior. I have been working as a middle school counselor since 2012. I live in the Somerset School District with my husband and our two sons, and I enjoy camping, swimming, hiking, biking, and traveling in my free time.
School counselors are here to support your student’s success in all areas - personal, social, academic, and career development. At SMS, we provide classroom lessons aligned with the Wisconsin School Counseling Standards for students in grades 5–8. In addition, we offer individual academic and career planning, as well as schoolwide programming focused on areas such as bullying prevention, crisis response and support, and academic success.
Please feel free to reach out to me regarding your child’s experience and success at school.

Welcome!
I am Amy Young, one of the two School Counselors at Somerset Middle School. I have worked in the Somerset School District since 2004. I went to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for my undergraduate degree and then attended the University of Denver to receive my master's degree in Counseling Psychology.
I work with all of the grades in the Middle School and co-teach the 8th grade CAPS(Career, Academic, Personal Social Skills) class with Mrs. Kyllo-the other school counselor. We also co-teach 5th, 6th, 7th-grade guidance classes monthly. We provide small group and individual counseling via self-referrals and teacher referrals. I am lucky to live in the Somerset School District where my four children have either graduated from or are currently atteding. You can reach me at (715) 247-4848 ext. 321 or ayoung@somerset.k12.wi.us
