Course Description:  The purpose of this course is to examine the following questions:

    How can understanding the past help us understand the present and the future?

    Why do people, places and ideas change over time?

    How is social and historical information gathered and presented?

    How do effective citizens address social and historical issues?

Students will look at material through the perspective of geographers, anthropologists and historians. There will be an emphasis on reading and writing strategies, as well as research skills and critical thinking. This year’s curriculum will include:  the regions of Asia, Africa, Central and South America focusing on the Geography, History, Economics and Civics of each region.
