ASL Visits to ECE
During Term One the ASL team visited ECEs in Whakaoriori to connect, share the current work in the Kāhui and find out about the current challenges or what is working well in Early Childhood Education.
During Term Three the ASL team visited ECEs to share the transition resources that have been created this year.
Early Literacy Project - WSL visits
This project aims to foster strong relationships between Primary and ECE kaiako.
New knowledge and understanding can grow from shared learning experiences.
ECE kaiako have the opportunity to share current trends and insights in Early Childhood Education with their primary colleagues, and also learn from them about recent changes in teaching approaches within primary schools.
As part of this project, a primary classroom teacher visits the centre or kindergarten. They may read to a large group during mat time or work with a small group on focused activities.
Transition Pukapuka
The Transition Pukapuka were created several years ago as a tool to support tamariki with their transition to primary School. These documents are available for Early Learning Services to print and use with their tamariki. Mark Walker updates these documents in Term One each year.
