Solon High School Counseling

As a school counselor, I support students in their academic, social-emotional, and personal growth. I work with students individually and in groups, collaborate with families and staff, and help students build the skills they need to feel confident, connected, and successful at school. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where every student feels heard, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Please Note: Any schedule changes, including dropping a Kirkwood class, need to go through Mrs. Leighty.

Throughout the school year, I help students explore and prepare for life after high school through college visits, trades tours, career exploration events, and more. I help students discover the many pathways available to them and support them in identifying options that align with their interests, strengths, and goals. I provide support with the post-secondary process, including applications, essays, testing, financial aid, scholarships, etc. I also work closely with students interested in earning college credit in high school and I am here to help them learn more about their options, choose classes that are right for them and their postsecondary goals, and get registered. Lastly, I teach a Kirkwood class twice a year called, How College Works. This is a great class for students wanting to test out a college level course and dive into college, career, and personal exploration!
