Help us to make it bigger! This year there will be many more of us!
We would like to share below what are the most common queries about the work of the Foundation and the prizes and scholarships that we give out during the Charity Night:
What is the Socrates Educa Foundation?
The Socrates Educa Foundation is a non-profit organisation which is the owner of the Socrates Educa International School Salou. It is a private Foundation with a vocation for public service that aims to help improve the quality of education and make it as equitable as possible.
What kind of aid is given? Has aid been given in previous courses?
Yes, aid has been given since the first year of the Socrates Educa International School, promoted by the Foundation but, from the beginning, also sponsored by families and collaborators. As a whole, we have three modalities: grants, prizes and scholarships.
► Socrates Educa Foundation aid fund:
The funds raised by this bag include the donations of the Night of Patronage + the amount that the Foundation itself adds each year + the contribution of collections that the students also make during the school year.
In general, all funds for this type of aid are entirely destined for SEIS students, who, in one way or another, may need support to access school or during the school year if a problem arises in the family. .
On occasions, however, aid (including funds for prizes and scholarships) has been focused on specific campaigns, such as aid for Covid-19 (to families who needed it during the 10/20, 20/21 and 21/22), as well as recently due to the crisis generated by the conflict in Ukraine, where families already from the school have been helped, but families from outside, who have arrived here because of the conflict, have also been welcomed.
► Scholarships:
1.- Since the Socrates Educa International School was born, the Excellence Scholarship has been awarded. Joan Gumà (donation from the Gumà family), intended for a SEIS student to excel in academics but also in personal kindness. The scholarship covers schooling for the entire following year.
2.- SE Scholarship. Esteve Blasi (donation from the Blasi family), intended for a student from outside the SEIC who wants to study BAT/IB at the school and cannot do so for financial reasons or any other reason that the scholarship can help resolve. The scholarship covers schooling for the following two years.
3.- Socrates Educa Scholarship for a student in the humanities field (donation from the Foundation), intended for an SEIS student in the humanities field. The scholarship covers schooling for the entire following year.
4.- FRUSELVA scholarship to a student in the STEAM field (Fruselva donation), intended for an SEIS student. The scholarship covers schooling for the entire following year.
5.- SE Foundation scholarships, intended for students from the SEIC or from outside for all or part of the cost of schooling.
► Prizes:
Socrates Educa Awards (donated by Socrates Educa Foundation) to the SEIS teaching team:
Socrates Educa Award for Teaching Excellence in the scientific, technological and mathematical fields.
Socrates Educa Award for Teaching Excellence (at any educational level or field of knowledge).
Both awards are an economic endowment to cover: personal training, resources to share with the team with whom the awardee works in these award-winning areas and a part for himself/herself.
Can I help in any way if I can't come to this year's Patronage Night?
Yes, in many ways, mainly:
1.- Standard ticket: come to the dinner and participate
2.- Premium ticket: ticket + donation: Extending the dinner ticket with an additional donation.
3.- Row zero: Contribution of any amount that goes directly to the FEIC scholarship and aid fund.
4.- Solidarity Sponsor: You can also contribute the equivalent of a full scholarship for a student the next course.
Link to make a financial contribution. The donation may be tax deductible. Make a request on the personal data sheet.
5.- Contribution of products for the raffle: You can contribute objects, tickets, promotions, invitations... for the lots that we prepare for the raffle that we will do throughout the night. Ask the school Reception for more information.
Can people come from outside the school?
Yes, sure! they just need to register in advance.
Why is it worth it that we are many in this celebration?
Because the charitable contribution goes directly to the Foundation's grant fund for the next academic year.
