Mrs. tyeisha atkinson

My name is Mrs. Tyeisha Atkinson-Colley and I am thrilled to have you this year. I was born and raised in Monroe, Georgia. I moved to Conyers, Georgia in 2015. I am married to my wonderful husband of 13 years. We have three little ones, Nyla-8, Amirr-6, and Kianni-3, who keep us super busy. I cannot forget my fur baby, Marty. My hobbies include traveling, reading, writing, playing video games, and shopping.

I enjoy discovering new and exciting things about the world we live in. After earning my BA in Early Childhood Education, I started my educational journey teaching Head Start and Pre-K. After working with younger students for 8 years, I decided to transition into middle school. I will earn my Masters of Arts in teaching Middle Grades with a concentration in Social Studies in December 2020. After a short break, I will move towards my specialist degree.

Teaching is my passion and my calling. I enjoy what I do and look forward to learning new things with you. Buckle up as we journey through Mrs. Atkinson’s Social Studies class. Adventure awaits!

Ms. Melissa Cagle

I love teaching Social Studies. We will be covering Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada, Europe, and Australia.

Sixth grade is the first year of a two-year World Area Studies course. The goal of this two-year course is to acquaint middle school students with the world in which they live.
