Dr. Mayank Garg is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Cleveland State University, United States. He is an active member of America Makes and Foging Industry Association (FIA). Currently, He is working on 'DED Additive Manufacturing for Forging Die Repair'. Formerly, He worked as a Research Associate at IIT Delhi, India. He has completed his Ph.D. on “Development of Complex Concentrated Alloys for High Temperature Applications” from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, Gautam Buddha Nagar. His research interests include (i) Surface modification of polycrystalline materials using friction stir processing; (ii) Degradation behavior of materials (steel, high entropy alloys and thermal spray coatings) in terms of erosion, cavitation, wear, corrosion, high temperature oxidation; (iii) Additive Manufacturing; (iv) Energy Storage; and (v) Water splitting (electrocatalysis) for OER and HER etc. His research work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and he has presented his research at couple of international conferences as well. He has collaborated with researchers from different disciplines during his PhD, which has given him a broader perspective on micro-structural, mechanical, thermal and electrochemical characterization of materials. Prior to joining PhD, he has worked as a “Senior Research Fellow” in Thapar University for a brief period which has strengthened his academic and research thinking towards the real world problem solving perspective.
