Second year PhD Student, Department of Industrial & Operations Engineering, University of Michigan Ann Arbor
I am second year PhD student in the department of Industrial & Operations Engineering at University of Michigan, advised by Dr. Saif Benjaafar. Before coming to Umich, I received my bachelor's and master's in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea. I also worked on Military OR problems collaborating with professors as a Big Data Researcher at the Korea Military Academy due to my mandatory military service. I am interested in combining Operations Research with Machine Learning and Mechanism Design.
As a researcher deeply interested in Supply Chain Management (SCM), I wrote a Book Chapter about 'Supply Chain Cyber Security' in a book 'The Digital Supply Chain' published by Elsevier in 2022. I posed 19 key questions for supply chain cyber security research.
I had the honor of winning the Grand prize (1st place) in the research paper competition organized by the Foundation of Korea Logistics Industry Promotion and presented my research on 'Quantification of Ripple Effect Caused by Global Supply Chain Disruptions and the Mitigation Strategies of Firms in the COVID-19 Era' in front of the CEOs of small and medium logistics companies in Korea.
For my mandatory military service, I conducted various Military OR research projects as a Big Data Researcher at the Korea Military Academy and presented them at academic conferences.
