In the next 5 years, under the ERC Advanced Grant "NoisyFluids", several post doc positions will be announced at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa.
Three positions have been announced in the last few months and the calls are closed.
The research will concern stochastic aspects of fluid dynamics; in particular:
- origin and form of noise in fluids; stochastic modeling of small-scale fluctuations
- influence of small scale turbulence on large scale; closed stochastic and deterministic large scale models
- regularization by noise in fluids; regularization of large scales by turbulence.
It is clear that SPDEs and Fluid Mechanics are the theories at the core of this research and candidates are expected to master these fields. However, experience on numerical computations and dynamical systems may give special insights and could be welcome. Interacting particle systems related to fluids also enter the picture sometimes.
The post doc will work in a very stimulating environment which includes a research group of more than ten people focused on probability, fluids and their applications.
