Welcome Students to SES Music!

• About Mrs. Kelly Evans:

Kelly Rawley Evans has 27 years of teaching in the public school setting and is the music teacher at Smyrna Elementary School, where she has been for ten years. Mrs. Evans has had the opportunity to inspire many students in North Carolina and Delaware through her creative and engaging general music classes, choral programs, musical productions, and insightful music field trips. She has also taught orchestras, private piano and vocal instruction, and directed music for a national hit stage play. In addition to music, Mrs. Evans has served as a curriculum director and Spanish teacher.

She enjoys teaching both youth and adults and serves as Music Director of the Chancel Choir and Covington Ensemble, and Worship Co-Chair & Media Director for Simpson United Methodist Church; and Technology Coordinator for the Delaware Juneteenth 2025 Family Enrichment Program & Pageant. Mrs. Evans has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Fayetteville State University and a Masters in Education degree in Applied Educational Technology from Wilmington University. Mrs. Evans is married to Dr. Joe Evans, a Delaware School Administrator. They have three beautiful children, Bria, Tobais & Trinity, and are co-owners of Results Tutoring, LLC.

My two passions are music & technology.  I hope I will be able to inspire you, my students & parents, through the use of both music & technology.  What I have learned through working with Music is through this famous quote, "When words fail, music speaks" and when working with technology you must continue to have PERSEVERANCE = NEVER GIVE UP!

• About Music Class:

We are going to have so much fun as I will be using all of my unique experiences to inspire YOU!  Music was one of my favorite classes in grade school and I hope it will be yours!
