Learn the principles that underlie the science of computing and develop the thinking skills that computer scientists use.
This course will help prepare students to complete the College Board AP Computer Science Principles exam May 13, 2021 and create a program to submit for the Performance Task due by April 30, 2021. We will follow Code.org’s Computer Science Principles (CSP) curriculum that introduces high school students to the foundations of modern computing.
This course is designed to be equivalent to a first-semester introductory college computing course. The course covers topics such as programming, algorithms, the Internet, big data, digital privacy and security, and the societal impacts of computing.

I am excited to begin the 2020-21 school year and look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. I am one of the Business Department Teachers for 9-12th grade at SHS. I teach all courses in the Computer Science Pathway at Smyrna High School which include: Exploring Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A. I am honored to be able to help students strive to become life-long learners .
This will be my 13th year teaching fabulous students at Smyrna High. I hope I can help you connect content in the pathway to help you obtain the skills you need for the future. I have a M.A.T. in Business, B.S. in Agri-business from Delaware State University. In addition to teaching, I am a current advisor for Business Professionals of America and co-advisor for the class of 2023. I am a mom to three children also in Smyrna School District and enjoy reading fiction, watching Sci-Fi and drama, crafting and gem hunting.
