Incoming Sophomores

Course selection lesson in class: Tuesday, March 4th.
If you do not request classes in StudentVUE by Friday, March 7th, your counselor will review your transcript and choose courses for you.
You will choose six classes unless you are part of a special program such as AVID 10, Band or ELD.

Be sure you filled out alternates and did not choose more than six courses. (unless you are in AVID 10, Band or ELD)
Get input and approval from your parent/guardian.
Deadline to request your courses in StudentVUE is Friday, March 7th. After March 7th no changes will be allowed until you meet with your counselor for course selection.

PLEASE include alternate electives that you would want - there are popular courses that fill quickly
Choose balance and don’t overload yourself. Think of your obligations outside of school.
If you would like to take a high school course at a charter school over the summer, please communicate with your counselor for more information.
If you would like to take a class at Palomar or MiraCosta, please communicate with your counselor for more information.
Minimum graduation requirements must be taken on the SMHS campus (ex: English 10, World History). Classes taken off campus (charter, Palomar College, etc. are applied as elective credits) - please communicate with your counselor for more information.
Students are limited to six classes per day unless enrolled in the Band, AVID 10 or ELD.
