We are committed to providing our students with the best educational theatre experience we can give them during these times. We are fortunate enough to be able to do productions at the Page Theater almost exactly like we intended them to be. We want to thank our students for committing to follow safety procedures so that we can do what we love. Due to safety concerns, we have implemented some safety protocols to ensure that everyone involved in the productions stays safe and healthy.
Anyone having any symptoms will not be allowed to participate. They will be asked to get tested and quarantine until the test results come back. We have made a list of people who can fill in crew positions if a member of the crew needs to quarantine. If a cast member needs to quarantine, they will virtually participate in the production.
All cast members are required to wear face shields for the entirety of the performance. Only the owner of the face shields are allowed to touch them. Each actor is responsible for sanitizing their own face shield. The reason we chose face shields instead of mask is so we can see the actors' facial expressions while still being safe.
All crew members are required to wear masks and gloves for the entirety of the performance.
All props and set pieces are to be sanitized as soon as they are offstage and before someone else has to touch them. No one is to touch props or set pieces without gloves except the actors while they are onstage. Immediately after exiting the stage, actors are to sanitize their hands. Costume pieces will be cleaned daily.
All blocking and transitions are set up in accordance to the social distancing guidelines. There will be 6 feet between people at all times.
The live audience is limited to students and faculty involved in the production. SMUMN community members who want to watch the performances will be allowed to watch the performance virtually. Visit our homepage to learn how to watch the performance.
