How do I join?
Membership is not automatic. You must apply for it. The application period is during the first six weeks of each semester and is widely publicized in the daily bulletin, on bulletin boards, and on BTV. Blank membership applications may be picked up in the C106 or Career Center. Grades for all classes must be listed, although grades in P.E., School Community Service, and repeated subjects do not count toward CSF membership. A grade of “D” or “F” in any subject keeps a student from membership for that semester.
Forms are collected during the second week in October and second week in February along with a $5.00 donation for membership in the current semester
Here is the application form for 2024-2025. Remember you are using grades from the previous semester.
Here is a planning doc for you to use to see if you qualify before submitting your online application.
What is required for membership?
At least 10 CSF points are required for membership. A grade of “A” earns three CSF points or 4 points for honors or AP (with a limit of 2 per semester). A grade of “B” earns one CSF point, or 2 points for an honors or AP class. A grade of “C” does not earn points. 7 of the 10 points must be from List I or List II classes. Planning Document
Membership is not retroactive. So if a student fails to apply on time, CSF membership is not granted for that semester. Transfer students may transfer their CSF semesters to BHS, if their previous school had a chapter of CSF. If not, the student may request that the CSF Advisor and the counselor evaluate grades from the previous school for CSF credit.
One of the semesters has to be senior year to qualify for the cord and tassel at graduation.
How do I know how many semesters I have been a CSF member?
