Flocabulary is a super fun resource for using rap music to teach concepts. There are engaging videos, already made-for-you lessons, vocabulary cards, and even a lyric lab where students can create their own rap song! There is even a "this week" in rap that takes all kinds of current events that are in the news and they make it into a song! Super engaging.
I highly recommend checking it out even just to use as a hook at the beginning of a unit. The SMUHSD has an account. Just log in using your Google Account!
