Forester Asami is an Indigenous leader with five years of professional experience as a forester. She has contextualized training modules and materials, facilitated training and meetings, and developed a sensitivity and respect for local culture. She has been a founding member and interim Focal point for Asia for the International Indigenous Youth Forum on Climate Change under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and founder of Ikalahan Youth Organization for Sustainable Development focused on cultural continuity and sustainable development. She has represented the Philippines in international conventions on climate change and other UN-organized conventions and forums. She obtained her Master of Arts in Ministry at the Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary in 2022, with academic units in Master of Science in Conservation and Restoration Ecology at the University of the Philippines Baguio and BS in Forestry with specialization in Social Forestry in 2024.
