VIRTUAL CALL BOARD:

RESOURCE PAGE FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS

Banquet, Blue Stars & Radium Girls

This was sent via email to parents of students enrolled in the theatre classes on Friday, May 3rd, I am posting it here as well to communicate with parents who's children are only involved in the extra-curricular side of our program. Thanks!

Good Morning Parents!

Last night was our final Booster Club meeting of the year, and I’m pleased to have many of our amazing Booster officer members returning for next year. We will have an opening for Secretary, as Mr. Bergman’s son is a graduating senior. If you are interested in serving as Secretary, please reach out to me or our returning president, Ms. Scruton at smnwbooster@gmail.com

Additionally, at our Booster meeting, some parents mentioned that some important end-of-year information has not come home from their children.

FIRST, is our Theatre Banquet! As per tradition, families are invited to attend! Our banquet will include an awards ceremony, season redux scenes, and a pizza, salad & dessert reception in the cafeteria. The event will begin at Noon on Saturday, May 11th in the Auditorium, and conclude with the social hour/reception. We expect the event to end around 2:30 or 3pm. We charge a $10 fee per person to cover the food and to help cover the cost of the trophies, medals, and pins that will be distributed to our award-winning students. The students have had access to the RSVP for a while, so before reserving, please communicate with your child so we do not have duplicate responses.  This is the link to RSVP https://forms.gle/5zF1etLBKSkYh2q79

Additionally, our production of The Addams Family was nominated for FOUR Blue Star Awards! Our categories are: Best Costume Design (Shout out to senior Dylan Lowe Keffer, our crew head) Best Hair & Makeup Design (Shout out to senior Ethan Albanna, our crew head) Best Pit Orchestra (Shout out to the leadership of our orchestra teacher and pit director, Ms. Brittany Wasko) AND Best performance in a featured role, for senior, Lily Reiff for her portrayal of Grandma. IF you and/or your child would like to attend the Blue Star Awards Ceremony. They will be held at Starlight Theatre on Thursday, May 16th at 7:30pm (Gates open at 6:30pm). Tickets to the event are absolutely free- but to make sure they have enough seats prepared, Starlight does ask that the public “reserve” their seats prior to the event. You can do so online at: https://tickets.kcstarlight.com/4614/4683?_gl=1*6ikjd7*_ga*MTkxMTQ4MDQyNS4xNzExMzc4ODM4*_ga_5NL046RZLZ*MTcxNDc0MTQxNy41LjEuMTcxNDc0MTQyOC40OS4wLjA.&queueittoken=e_sfetynetlive~q_438d5284-3154-4120-bc38-c6b4c97a9644~ts_1714741616~ce_true~rt_safetynet~h_1a850f1a51a511565c6dacc9af84a58a3e13932a497cec743d46ec8feb93b3d0

Last but not least, we do have one last production to finish out the year. Our Rep Class production of “Radium Girls” will be produced on Friday, May 10th & Saturday, May 11th @ 7pm in the Little Theatre. Tickets are free, but donations to the Thespian Troupe will be accepted at the door.

We only have 17-days left of the school year, and what an outstanding year it’s been! I appreciate all the support we’ve received from parents, grandparents, and the community as we continue to grow this phenomenal program. THANK YOU for your continued support and encouragement!

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Sincerely,

Shawnasea Holst
