My name is Jennifer Korn and I am the social worker at Lenexa Hills Elementary School.
The students call me Ms. Korn.
My role is to assist students, families, and educators in creating a community where all can thrive. School social workers are trained mental health professionals who bring unique knowledge and skills to the school setting. That may look like visiting classes to enhance and learn emotional regulation, conflict resolution, communication, problem-solving and resiliency skills or helping a child when they are having a rough day. Additionally, social workers can assist families with accessing community resources, working with the school team to develop interventions to foster student success, intervening during crisis situations, providing parenting tips and acting as a community liaison. We are often the point of contact if parents or caregivers have concerns regarding their child's adjustment or well-being.
Be sure to explore my website for resources, links and other information.
I look forward to connecting with you!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Korn, MSW, LSCSW
