Basic Computer Concepts and Operations

Students will learn and be able to:

• Understand and obey copyright laws and licensing restrictions.

• Evaluate the accuracy of and bias in media sources.

• Determine the reliability of information found on an internet site.

• Cite material taken from another source, under issues of plagiarism.

• Research and evaluate the accuracy, relevance, appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and bias of electronic information sources concerning real-world problems.

• Choose and create charts or graphic (tables) that best represents data.

• Perform intermediate formatting tasks (e.g., indentations, bullets, page breaks, margins, and columns).

• Communicate and publish using web- based tools, such as wikis, blogs, websites, podcasts, and video.
