Class Information
Some important PreK info:
Supplies: Your child will need a backpack, no larger than 16” long but big enough to fit a folder without having to fold it. I will provide your child with a folder and that folder will travel back and forth between school and home on a daily basis.
Photos of your child: Please bring in two photos of your child. Please do not send in a photo that you will want back (paper copies are great). It would be most beneficial if this photo is more of a head shot of your child. Please bring the two photos with you to Meet the Teacher Day in a ziplock baggie with your child’s name on the back of both photos.
Change of Clothes: Please place a change of clothes, socks and underwear in a large gallon size zip lock baggie with your child’s first and last name printed on it. Towards the cold months we will be asking for another change of clothes that are appropriate for the colder months. Please bring your change of clothes on Meet the Teacher Day or on the first day.
Communication
Folder: Your child will have a folder in their bag. Please send in any notes to me in this folder. Also, check this folder NIGHTLY for important information, completed papers/projects and homework. Please clean out the folder nightly as well. Make sure the folder comes back to school each day.
Emails: You will receive weekly emails from me every weekend, filled with what we learned that week as well as anything coming up that you need to be aware of. Please use this information to ask your child questions about their school day. This email will also keep you informed as well.
Snack: Every school day you will need to send your child to school with a small snack and a water bottle. Please use the snack bag that was supplied to you at the beginning of the school year. Preschool is a nut free environment. Please label your child’s water bottle with his/her name. Please do not send in fruit cups with juice. They are extremely hard for “little ones” to open and if opened incorrectly they make a huge mess. Think small, easy to open snacks for snack time.
Homework
Homework packets will be sent home on Mondays/Tuesdays. These packets are optional but are highly encouraged and offer your child a way to continue to practice skills that were taught in school at home. If you choose to complete the packets, please send them back to school with your child’s name on it so we can see their great work!
Inclement Weather: If there is inclement weather, St. Margaret School follows Harford County Public Schools closing schedule. A school wide email will be sent from administration
