April 22, 2024

I hope you all had a fun and relaxing Spring Break.  These next few weeks are going to be busy.

This trimester, your student is eligible to earn honor roll.  They must have only A's and B's, with more A's.  They must also have grades of S or better in specials and effort.  For the rest of the school year, students will lose 3 points for any late work.  After one week past the due date, the assignment will not be accepted.

This week in ELA we will continue reading our final novel, Fever 1793.  We are also working on reading comprehension skills and poems.   The April poem will be recited on Wednesday, April 24.  If your student will not be here, please have them ready to recite it before Wednesday.

In 5C math, we will spend the next few days reviewing lines and geometry.  I cannot stress enough how important it is that your child is fluent in their multiplication tables.  If your child still struggles, they can play 99math on their own to review.  You can also quiz them while you're driving in the car.

In science, we will be talking about the cycles of the Earth and the moon.

In religion, we are breaking down different aspects of Christ's life during the Easter Season.  We will be researching a saint.

Upcoming important dates:

5th grade is such a fun year.  Your children are the oldest on the ES campus, and many jobs and responsibilities come with that.   It's an amazing year of growth!   Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children.  I am looking forward to a great year!

Emails with reminders will be sent by myself or Mrs. Howard each week.   If you do not receive them, please email me at  kclark@smsch.org so I can ensure I have your proper email.

Blessings,

Mrs. Clark
