On Friday the 21st of June we held our very first school fun day. And what an amazing day it was ! It began in the morning with our whole school dance takeover. What a sight it was to see over 1000 students, from Junior Infants to 6th class perform the Macarana dance together.
After the break we were joined by parents, grandparents, buggies and more to complete our final 3000km in our Run Around the World Challenge. The atmosphere was electric and it was so wonderful for everyone to complete the jourmey together. It definitely lived up to our school motto of "tri nasc ar neart" (our strength is our unity) and our goal of being a big school with a small school feel.
Finally after the break we had our keenly contested Students vs Teachers Olympics! All students were in attendance for the seven events which were keepy uppies, javelin, penos, sprint, obstacle course, tug of war and rounders. It was still all to play for going into the final event but eventually the students prevailed on a scoreline of 61 points to 60!!
