The Pacific Coast is incredibly powerful, diverse and beautiful. Living here in the Bay Area, we have the great fortune to live next to it! This Enrichment Week adventure is designed to get students out to the coasts, to learn about the incredible life forms that inhabit the ecosystems where the land and water meet.
Our adventures will range from local visits to the Berkeley Marina and Shorebird Nature Center, to the Steinhardt Aquarium in SF, the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito as well as down to the gem of the Pacific Coast- beautiful Monterey, where we will visit the famous Aquarium, explore the coastal habitats, and meet with some scientists at the aquarium's research institute.
My name is Dr. Theo (Patricia Theodosopoulos) and I will be adventuring together with the students this week. I teach Chemistry and Marine Biology and I am so excited to be offering this experience. I will be joined by my husband, Ted Theodosopoulos, for the adventure in Monterey. Ted is a math teacher at the Nueva School in San Mateo and he grew up near the sea in Greece, so he is looking forward to joining us!
