Today we departed from our hotel in southern Iceland and made our way back towards the
capital city, Reykjavik. Along the way, we visited several scenic locations. First was the remains
of a bridge that was swept away by a massive glacial flood. We then made our way to a
massive glacier, svinafelljokull, that happened to also be the set of a Batman movie. The glacier
was surrounded by millions of rocks that had been picked up and broadcasted around the area
by the glacier’s movement over the past several thousand years. We then made our way to a
beautiful glacier, jokullsarlon and an accompanying frozen lagoon that met with the ocean, after
a short hike, we reached our bus and went to get lunch. On our last stop before returning to
Reykjavik, we stopped at a large waterfall, Urridafoss, which was surrounded by 15 foot thick
chunks of snow that floated on the water. We then ended our busy day with fish and chips near
our hotel in Reykjavik.
