"Leave saving the world to men? I don't think so." - Mrs. Incredible
We kicked off (lol get it?) Day 2 with a journal prompt on inner strength. Then we moved right on along to Love Language and Chinese Zodiacs. The girls continue to learn about their personality traits and how they move through the world and take up space - we decided that everyone is "selfish" and no one REALLY cares... so do what you want to do! Wear what you want to wear! Love what you love! (as long as you don't hurt yourself or others- you do you boo!)
Miss Clyne gave a mini "lecture/lesson" on GRWN WMN - an overview of women in society (starting in 1920) and how women have been a force to be reckoned with throughout history. Quick shoutouts to those trailblazers and women who did it first - "Well behaved women seldom make history"
We committed to daily SPF AND promised to NEVER go to sleep with a full face of makeup on. Sharing is not caring when it comes to makeup and skin products and water really is magic.
For the main event... LITERAL tushy kicking. Makena lead us in a Self-Defense class. Accompanied by one of her Kung-Fu instructors, Makena guided us through a crash course on how to find inner strength and use the power inside our bodies. The theme? "Don't do it half way!" Go all in. Punch HARD. Kick like you mean it! Chanel your RAGE! (safely and with purpose). What does it mean to be a woman in this world and why is it crucial we know how to defend ourselves? Will there be a day where we don't constantly need to be in Fight or Flight?
Candy salad. Friendship bracelets. Sushi triangles. A perfect combo for a lunch break. Gosh is it gorgeous outside!
The day concluded with a somatic based painting activity. "Strength" through the 5 senses. The paintings and drawings visually showcase how each girly senses her own inner strength (be it physical, mental, or emotional)
what will tomorrow bring? well... Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
