Need assistance finding a resource?
Santa Monica High School is one of the 23 schools that has partnered with Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) for the Community Schools Initiative. The Community Schools Initiative is a strategy that brings together educators, community partners, local government agencies, students, and families to understand and address the unique needs, assets, and aspirations of the school community.
As a team, we align community resources to realize a shared vision for success. The focus is to improve student outcomes by addressing students’ academic, cognitive, physical, mental, and social-emotional needs. In addition to orchestrating governmental and community resources, community schools meet the needs of children and youth by building a positive school climate and trusting relationships, along with rich learning opportunities that prepare all students to succeed in college, career, and life.
As we transform Samohi into a Community School, one of our goals is to share with you community resources that may be of support to you. If you need further assistance or have unique circumstances that may be impacting your student's overall well-being, you may complete a referral and our Samohi Schools staff will reach out to you over the phone.
