Over the summer I went to Norway and Denmark to visit friends. I saw the oldest amusment park in the world in Copenhagen. This year I am really excited to actually work on projects with my friends and build really cool things. This year I am excited to get senior-itus and to hangout before college.

Winning Spaghetti Tower Design - 08/19

Built with my group members, we focused on height over structural stabality because we knew that the structure could hold the marshmellow with less support.

I am currently swamped with college apps, school, online courses, and boy scout work so I am super busy and trying to get everything done.

Ethics in Engineering Unit

The Ethics in Engineering Project will be helpful when looking at what I create in the capstone project because I taught me that I resbonsable for my creations: their safty and uses.

We had a great idea that could work well during the JPL project. The slope design provided enough energy for the ball to roll fast enough to go through a wicket accurately and with force. We could have built the project better. Because of an inconsistent slope and the difficulty of making it perfectly smooth, our mechanism could have been more accurate. When working with groups next semester, I would like to consider multiple designs before finalizing one. Many choices would open up discussion and close speculation to yield the best design possible. Future advice for myself would be to take it slow. I'm not in a rush, so think things out entirely and act with intelligence, not haste.

Throughout my highschool career I have hunkered down and put in the work. As I advanced in grades, workloads, although progressively becoming harder, took me less time to complete. The past seven semesters have been stressful, especially senior year first semester. This semester I hope to get all the work I need to do for boy scouts, my Spanish course, and my SAMOHI courses done, while avidly snowboarding on weekends and surfing. I want to start hanging out with my friends again and more, as well as relaxing and feeling stress free. I think my group will face many issue in our Capstone project, like finding a solid solution of our problem, but I look forward to brainstorming and solving them.

Products that are made for profit are designed with the purpose of making income for the manufacturer. These products are often advertised and marketed to generate sales and profits. Products that are made to benefit others, on the other hand, are designed with the goal of providing a positive outcome for people or the environment. These products are often developed to meet a need, solve a problem, or improve the lives of others. The pros of developing a product for profit are a better financial return, an opportunity to make something new, and increase brand recognition from marketing. The cons are competition from other companies, the risk of failure, and customers disliking the product. The pros of developing a product to benefit others are a posative impact on society, brand recognition from developing something good, and customer loyalty because people like you. The cons are bad financial returns, it may be hard to seperate your product with another company doing soemthing similar, and you risk failure.

At the moment, I don't know what I want to major in when I go to college. I applied for engineering programs, but I don't have a particular attachment to the field. I think I would still like to persue STEM although a different field  may be a better suited interest for me.

A famous person in the field I wish to study is Leonardo Da Vinci. He was an artist, inventor, scientist, anatomist, sculptor, engineer, and architect. GHe had no formal education or prerequisited for his job. Despite that he was innovative, curious, creative, ambitious, and ahead of his time. I researched him because I feel connected to his wish to study everything. I have always loved how Da Vinci was so remarkable in so mabye fields at the discression of his interests. I have great admiration for his accomplishments and thrist for knowledge, but I wish we had more of his work today.
