About Me

Welcome! I'm so excited to be your student's teacher this year!I'm originally from Minnesota, but have lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years. I've been part of the JAMS family for 8 years now, beginning as the Bilingual Instructional Assistant with English Language Learners back in 2013.

I earned my B.A. from UCLA in Comparative Literature with a Spanish emphasis, and a Minor in Latin American Studies. I also hold a Masters in Bilingual Education from Loyola Marymount University. I'm passionate about literacy and language learning, and my primary goal is to create a lifelong love of learning and reading in all of my students!

While in college I volunteered in Mexico, took a summer Travel Study trip to Costa Rica, and spent a year living and studying at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago. I met my husband while traveling in Chile, and we are now living in the JAMS neighborhood raising three little bilingual children. If you see us around town, be sure to say hi!
