St. Mark’s Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) Status Approved
St. Mark’s Medical Center (St. Mark’s) received Federal approval as a Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) designation, part of a longer term solution pursued by the St. Mark’s Board of Directors to continue providing healthcare services to Fayette and Lee counties.
Among the first hospitals in Texas to convert to the REH model, the new status provides St. Mark’s with a 5 percent increase in Medicare reimbursements plus a monthly facility fee that helps address operational cost increases in areas such as labor and supplies.
Services at St. Mark's available under the REH designation include:
24x7 Emergency Services
Observation
Laboratory
Imaging and X-Ray
Mammography
Nuclear Medicine
Respiratory Therapy
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiovascular Imaging Center
Wound Care; and
Sleep Study
Note: St. Mark’s front entrance is open 7 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday; please enter through the Emergency Department at other times.
