Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Description
Under the direction of the health care provider, the LVN is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety.
Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
Obtains and records vital signs including, but to limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem.
Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic and/or inhalant administration.
May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG’s.
Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.
Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.
Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the Practice Manager or healthcare provider(s).
Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights
Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Clinic Coordinator, Clinic Director or healthcare provider(s).
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
License as LVN in good standing with Texas Board of Nursing.
BLS support or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Description
The Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging equipment to perform various imaging duties that will assist medical professionals in the detection of foreign bodies, diagnosis of disease, and injuries in patients.
Operates imaging equipment to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist and Imaging Department Director
Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights
Performs other duties as assigned by Imaging Director.
Requirements
Must have an Associate's degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school in Imaging Technology.
Must currently hold or be eligible for registration with the Texas State Board of Imaging Technologists and the American Registry of Imaging Technologist
BLS support or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality cardiopulmonary therapy care to patients of all ages under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Services Director and orders of the attending physician.
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must currently hold a license issued by the Texas Department of Health to practice Cardiopulmonary Care in the State of Texas
Certified by the National Board for Cardiopulmonary Care as a Certified Cardiopulmonary Therapist (CRT) or Registered Cardiopulmonary Therapist (RRT).
Must maintain current CPR.
1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Laboratory Services
Description
The Medical Technologist performs all laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, and blood banking under the direction of the Laboratory Director. The Medical Technologist also collects blood specimens as required for laboratory testing. The Medical Technologist assures that patients are seen promptly and pleasantly.

Wound Care Clinic
Description
This position will help support all aspects of patient care within the organization and the provider’s scope of practice. The NP will provide for medical care to patients as outlined in their collaborative agreement and under the oversight of their supervising physician in the outpatient setting. Knowledge and advanced skills with advanced physical assessment and treatment of complex wounds, management of skin integrity and chronic care management is required.
Evaluates and sets a treatment plan for all initial and established wound referrals.
Accurately performs history and physical examinations on adult patients with acute and chronic wounds.
Assess, diagnose and manage chronic conditions for patient population.
Identifies clinical deviations, initiates and evaluates treatment for patients with commonly occurring health problems within scope of practice.
Consults, co-manages or refers as appropriate with other specialties.
Prescribes medication as delegated in the protocols and/or procedures.
Provides individualized patient teaching and counseling.
Communicates with Primary Care Physician (PCP) or office staff regarding any changes in patient’s condition.
Communicates with collaborating provider as outlined in collaborative agreement and in accordance with applicable federal, state and local guidelines.
Completes necessary documentation as outlined in hospital’s and RXH’s policies.
Develops, implements and/or participates in research or educational activities.
Maintains competency in clinical practice and meets and maintains requirements for all certifications.
Participates in quality improvement activities and monitoring of health outcomes for patients.
Ensures proper documentation of diagnoses and treatments/procedure performed.
Assesses and creates treatment plans and prescribes medication in accordance with applicable federal, state and local requirements.
Initiates evaluation and treatment procedures essential to appropriate response to emergency wound and ostomy situations.
Assure staff knowledge and practice surrounding goals of healthy skin integrity and wound management.
Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes.
Participate in education of patients as well as hospital staff to assure best outcomes and most current clinical practice.
Requirements
Education and Technical Skills:
Masters or Doctoral Degree as a Nurse Practitioner
Valid Texas nursing license in good standing
2 years Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) experience preferred
Experience in management of wound, ostomy and continence care preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Board Certification in any of the following: Adult Nurse Practitioner/ANP, Family Nurse Practitioner/FNP, or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner/GNP
Active DEA license with prescriptive authority
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
