Luke Marx is the lead director of the Junior High band program in Smithville ISD, where he directs the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and instructs beginner classes. Before joining the Smithville family, Mr. Marx taught in Thrall ISD as a percussion specialist. He has also worked under the guidance of Luke McMillan, a well known small school marching band arranger.

Over the past year Mr. Marx has stood in front of groups in Thrall ISD, Taylor ISD, and Hutto ISD  where he has led multiple bands in rehearsal and concerts. He also is an active composer who writes band literature, and percussion arrangements which have been played at the area and state levels. 

Outside of music Mr. Marx enjoys fishing, landscaping, and spending time with family.
