Conditioning

We will gradually increase our time spent running and build our aerobic endurance so that athletes are prepared to run up to 2 miles at a cross country meet.

Strength & Flexibility

We will work hard to minimize risk of injury. As a result, a good portion of our workouts will be devoted to strength and flexibility training.

FUN!

Students will set goals for their SMS Cross Country season and we will work towards them daily. BUT we will have FUN in doing so. Running is a activity that athletes will participate in for a lifetime because they enjoy it. Our goal is to establish that habit.

Practice

Practices begin on August 16th!

Practices will be held August 16th, 17th, 18th, and 21st from 6 AM until 7 AM.

Beginning August 22nd, practices will be held at the Middle School M-F* from 3:00- 4:30 pm.

On Fridays during the month of September, practices will be held at Smith's Fork Park. Athletes will need to be picked up at that location at 4:30 pm.

Health & Safety

BRING WATER EVERYDAY!!

Don't forget a towel or mat to avoid the itchy grass rash and the goose poo! Save the horseplay for another time. We are here to have fun, but we are here to run and improve our running ability!
