About Me

Hello, my name is Mrs. Joelie McCrary.

I grew up in Odessa, Missouri. My husband and I both work in the school district, so we spend a lot of time on campus. When we aren't at the school, we like like going to the library, playing board games, and watching movies as a family. When we go out, museums and historic sites are on the top of our to do list. We also enjoy eating at restaurants where we can enjoy foods from countries around the world.

Education

I studied Secondary Social Studies Education at the University of Missouri. While there, I completed a summer teaching program in Jeollanam Do South Korea. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science and a Multicultural Certificate. I am certified to teach grades 5-9 & 9-12. Since then, I've gotten a masters degree from William Woods University in Education Administration.

Some of my favorite things: Kindness, Coffee, Peanut M&Ms, Gatorade, house plants, and Survivor

At Smithville

I have been a part of the Smithville School District since 2013. Since then, I've taught a variety of courses in the social studies department. However, the majority of my experience has been in the areas of American History and Psychology. I love the content in these two courses! I find the real-world connections that students make in these classes keep them engaged and excited about the material as well.

This Year

This school year, I will be teaching the following courses:

I am also a 9th grade Warrior Time teacher.

I look forward to a great school year!

Would you like to support my students this year?

I'll update this supply list as needs arise throughout the school year.
