Hello students and families! My name is Amanda Thompson, and I am thrilled to be starting my 19th year teaching at FRS!

Teaching at FRS is extra special to me because my own journey started right in these halls as a kindergarten student. After attending FRS and SCHS and went on to graduate from Tennessee Technological University in December 2007. Over the last 18 years, I’ve had the joy of teaching a variety of grades and subjects. I started my career teaching 3rd grade at NMS for half a year. I proudly returned to FRS for the next 16 years and taught a variation of 6th-8th grades, math and science. This will be my 3rd year serving as the Literacy Leader at FRS. Teaching at FRS feels like home, and I can't wait for all the learning, growth, and fun we are going to share this year.

A Few of My Favorite Things: When I’m not at school, I love working on puzzles, amusement parks, going on walks and playing with my sweet dog, Poppy, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
