Fourth Grade Overview

Welcome to Fourth Grade Math & Social Studies! This year we will use the Savvas enVision Mathematics curriculum to strengthen mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application skills. Students will build confidence as they explore new concepts through hands-on activities, visual models, technology, collaborative learning, and independent practice. 

Major topics of study include: 

*Place value through the millions *Multiplication and division with larger numbers

*Multi-digit addition and subtraction *Factors, multiples, prime and composite numbers

*Fractions, including equivalent fractions, comparing, adding, and subtracting fractions

*Decimals to the hundredths *Measurement (metric and customary) *Data collection & graphing

*Geometry, including angles, lines, shapes, symmetry, and area and perimeter

In social studies, we will be using the Gallopade Tennessee Social Studies curriculum. Students will explore the history of the United States from the colonial era through Reconstruction. We will learn about significant historical events, influential people, geography, economics, and civics.
