Math Overview
This year, we are using the Savvas enVision Mathematics curriculum to build strong math thinkers. Your child will dive deep into exciting new concepts, including multiplication, division, fractions, and area. Our daily lessons focus on real-world problem solving and visual modeling to make sure students truly understand the "why" behind the math.
Science Overview
This year, our class will transform into a laboratory as we explore the world through Savvas Science. The blended print and digital curriculum engages students in phenomena-based inquiry, three-dimensional learning, and hands-on investigations. Instead of just reading about science, your child will actively investigate real-world mysteries, ask big questions, and use the engineering design process to solve problems.
About me
Hello! My name is Laura Dyer, and I am excited to begin my fifth year at Union Heights School. Teaching is more than a career for me—it's a passion. I love helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally while creating a classroom where every student feels valued, encouraged, and inspired to do their best.
Outside of school, my greatest joy is spending time with my family. My husband, Jared, and I are blessed with four wonderful boys: Judah, Jonah, Jesse, and our youngest, Jason. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors and making memories together. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, watching basketball with my sons, and baking—especially anything made with sourdough!
I feel honored to have the opportunity to teach, encourage, and learn alongside my students each day. I look forward to partnering with families to make this school year a positive, engaging, and successful experience for every child.
