I am a proud Smith County native and attended school within Smith County up until I graduated from Smith County High School in 2014. After graduation, I continued my education at Tennessee Technological University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education History in 2018. In 2022, I went back to school and earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I am starting my ninth year of teaching, with this being my sixth year at SCHS!

I come from a family with a background in education and I have always had a passion for history - so I decided to combine the two! As passionate as I am about history, I hope to pass on to each student who enters my classroom that history is more than just memorizing dates and events - it's about understanding the people, decisions, and moments that have shaped the world we live in today.

I am a wife of seven years to my husband, Justin and a mom of a one year old, Wilder. Our family also includes our three dogs - Molly, Avery, and Timber.

I am so fortunate that I have been able to return to the community that helped shape me into the person I am today and give back through teaching. As your child's U.S. History teacher, my goal is to create a classroom where students are challenged to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and make connections between the past and the present. I genuinely strive to make learning engaging through interactive activities, discussions, historical investigations, and hands-on lessons that encourage students to see history from multiple perspectives. I want every student to leave my classroom not only with a stronger understanding of our nation's history but also the skills to analyze evidence, think independently, and become informed citizens. I strive to create a classroom where every student feels welcome, respected, and encouraged to do their best.
