Class Overview

Welcome to a brand new school year! My name is Mrs. Amanda Vaughn, and I am excited to be the 8th grade HOMEROOM teacher, as well as, the 7th and 8th grade math and science teacher. This is my 12th year teaching at DES. I love exploring numbers, conducting experiments, and helping students discover how the world works.
A Little About Me
Experience: 12 years teaching math and science at DES. (20 years in education)
Family: Married with 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law, and 2 beautiful granddaughters.
Pets: A very lazy, lovable pupper named Cookie, 5 horses, several longhorns, 6 chickens, and a few stray animals here and there
A Few of My Favorite Things
Hobbies: Camping, canoeing, and white-water rafting.
Adventures: Skydiving! Hiking to see waterfalls.
Free time: Spending quality time with my family.
Restaurants: Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, Panera, and Sonic.
Sweets: Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate with Caramel with sea salt
Color: Purple or Teal
Drink: Caramel Frappuccino, Dr. Pepper, or Loaded Tea (Water)
Season: Football 😁
Holiday: Thanksgiving
