Guidance Registrar
Welcome to Smith County Guidance. I am responsible for taking care of sending transcripts to colleges and empoyers, filing test scores, etc. into students permanent records, answering and handling any phone calls, and helping counselors and principals as I'm needed. I also help coordinate various school events.
About me
My name is Mitzi Long, and I'm excited to be an assistant in Guidance. My career began as a special education paraprofessional in 2009 at Carthage Elementary. In 2017, I had the opportunity to transfer to Smith County High School as a Guidance Registrar where I'm still currently employed. I have to say I absolutely love my job and look forward to another fantastic school year.
I was born and raised in Smith County where I still live today. I graduated from Smith County High School in May of 1994. I've been married to my husband, Stephen for 21 years; he works for Smith County E-911. We have one daughter, Malitha. She is 20 years old and is employed at Defeated Creek Elementary School as a kindergarten assistant. Outside of school, I love spending time with family and close friends.
